A broken arm

Here are some pictures of Kaelyn and her broken arm throughout the week-long process. The picture below was after getting home from the Madison County Hospital ER. They put it in a youth XS sling. That worked for that night and part of the next day, but it was just too big.

Then on Tuesday afternoon we took Kaelyn to Children's because of issues getting into an orthopedic surgeon and the sling wasn't doing it's job. Below is a picture after Kaelyn was admitted to Children's and they put her arm in a splint until her surgery the next day.

Here is the picture of the final product, her pink AND blue cast, as she requested. Things are starting to get back to normal now for her. The biggest snag that we ran into today was a dress that she wanted to wear didn't fit over her cast.

Another wrinkle in the story, her cousin Kalvary, fell off of the refrigerator at their house on Sunday morning and also broke her arm. Luckily for her, no surgery was needed. Here they are sporting their Pink and Blue and Pink and Green casts. They were trying to look like they were in some pain!

Long past time for an update...

Well it has been quite a while since we have updated and I decided that I would post some pictures of what's been going on lately at our house. I hope you enjoy them.

Singing at the dining room table, a somewhat regular occurrence anymore at our house.

Playing in the snow! Finally!

We also repainted our living room and dining room. Here is the finished product!
Kara did a GREAT job!

Well, I think that we may be good for another 6 months or so now. OK, we'll try and post more often, but I make no guarantees. I hope that you enjoyed the pictures! - Jeff

Thoman family update

Kaelyn's first time actually going potty. Pee and poop!

Here's what it looked like.:) Shaun always said he likes pictures on blogs.

Jonah at his 9 month appointment weighed in at 25lbs 9 oz and was 30 inches long.

Just in case you have forgotten what Jeff looks like here's a current picture.

Just in case you've forgotten what I (Kara) look like, here's a self portrait with Kaelyn's fingers running through my hair.

Harry Potter Fan?

Finally, a posting. Sorry it's been a while. Time and an idea's for a posting have prevented me from posting lately. For all you Harry Potter fan's out there I read the final book in a span of about 2 and 1/2 days. No, I did not buy it, I borrowed it. It was a good book that was very hard to put down. Now I understand things that happened in previous books and I know whether or not Harry dies. Don't worry I won't give it away. Some day I want to read the series again now that I know the whole story.

Chicken Pox

I took Kaelyn to the doctor yesterday and found out that she has chicken pox. Funny story about our visit. The only place that Kaelyn has chicken pox is on her bum, and so I had to strip her down for the doctor to see them. After Kaelyn was checked out she wanted down. She was running around the room with nothing on but her sandals. I started telling the doctor how Kaelyn likes to sit on the potty chair naked and when I turned to look at Kaelyn there was a little puddle on the floor. I was horrified and exclamied "Kaelyn!". Realizing what she had done she proceded to try and wipe it up with her hands which added to my embarrasment. The doctor kindly laughed and said she would wipe up the floor but I should get her hands. Ah, lately if it's not one thing it is another.

Update on life

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. Jonah had his 6 month appointment on Friday and he weighed 21lbs 13oz and was 28 ½ inches. We might just have a thirty pound one year old in 6 months.

Thank you all for thinking of us the past few months. It has been really hard on me (Kara) to go through all of this. Many times I feel like I am too young to be dealing with this type of situation and I feel guilty that I can’t be with mom more. Probably the hardest thing for me is not being able to have the conversations with mom that I used to before she got sick. Other than Jeff she is probably the one person knows and understands me the best. So, even though she is here and getting better. I miss her terribly.
