update on pregnancy

Sorry it has been a little while since we have updated. We were with the extended Freed family for Thanksgiving weekend. It was a lot of fun and I am so thankful that I did not go into labor while we were there. I went to the midwife last night for my weekly check up and I am progressing nicely. I am dilated 4 cm and I am 40-50% effaced. This could mean I go early but not necessarily. With Kaelyn I went two days over and I was dilated 3-4 for a couple of weeks. So I could go late. My sister in-law Kris went 9-10 days late. I commend her for her patience because I would not have been able to wait that long. Well we'll try and keep every one posted on my progress.

Pictures as promised

This post will not be very long since we are getting ready for Thanksgiving activities. However we did want to share some pictures from Kaelyn's two birthday parties. Oh yeah, and a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from the Thoman family.

1st Birthday

On Friday the 17th our little girl Kaelyn turned one year old. People always say that time flies, but when you start having kids it seems like it really flies. We celebrated Kaelyn's birthday two times this year once with the Thoman side and once with the Freed side. Hopefully we are not spoiling her too much. She enjoyed having chocolate cake at both parties, and opening presents. At first she acted like she wasn't sure what to do with the cake, but with a little prompting she was a nice chocolaty mess. Thank you to all who were there to help celebrate her birthday. I will try to have some pictures from her party on the next posting. I haven't learned how to download pictures from our camera to the computer. So we'll all have to wait for my husband, the computer genius, Jeff. :)

A quickie

For those of you who had trouble posting comments, Jeff fixed it. You should be able to post a comment now if you want to. I'm a little tired because I was called early from London Schools to substitute for a sick nurse. Thankfully it was at the Jr. High which is pretty easy and relaxed. Most of the time kids who say they are sick just want a reason to get out of class.:)

Root Canal

I never really knew what a root canal meant until yesterday. It was exactly how it sounds. The dentist went in through the filling in my tooth and cleaned out the infection in the roots of my tooth. Sounds painful right? Well while she was doing it I was numb, but the numbness did wear off and my tooth did not feel so peachy last night. It's recommended that you take ibuprofen however since I am pregnant I was stuck with Tylenol last night. Today it does not hurt as badly but it is not an experience I wish to have again. Well since I put you all through my wonderful experience I will give you some pictures to lighten the mood.

Having fun at cousin Kalvary's house.

Our little Buckeye fan is preparing for the big game on Saturday.

Update

Well, now that I (Kara) know how to update our blog hopefully I will be able to update it more than just once a month. :) Our lives have been rather busy lately. Last week we had a couple girls stay at our house while their parents went on vacation for their 20th anniversary. Then on Thursday one of my teeth started severely hurting. The tooth has been worked on a couple of times by my dentist and when I had him check it today he gave me a prescription for Penicillin and I have to get a root canal tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it, but I am looking forward to no pain.

Oh, and if any of you are wondering my pregnancy is going well. I am 36 weeks pregnant. Right now I am ready to not be pregnant, but I am not ready to have the baby yet. Well, I probably should get over that soon. Any way I will leave you with some pictures of our almost one year old.
